An eye opening article about totalitarian approach of US administration and gaging of electronic media in the name of terrorphobia.I'm feeling prowd that India still have true democracy in it,at least we are not gaged by government agencies in the name of internal security. The story behind champion leader chavez was brainstorming, and there are fair possibilty of conspiracy behind his sudden death...TA intellect shows his class and thumbs up to him for bringing the darkerside of trut without fear or favbour.

A grand interpretation of contemporary history by a man whose heart is in the right place. My quibble and it is only a quibble is that despite the imperialist nature of the US - it is also a country with a self correcting mechanism. When TA had to seek safer pastures because of his political views and activism his parents did not send him to West Asia, or North Africa or Turkey or Indonesia. They send him to UK. Despite what he says is the attempt by the West to demonize Islam by linking it to terror it must be remembered that a lot of Muslims from Islamic majority countries seek shelter in the West to escape persecution for their views.
To that extent I think he has been unfair in his assessment of the West.

pl note what TA has said, the media as a pillar of the state, Human Rights activists in pay of CIA and perhaps saddest of all that china is adopting mimicry instead of demonstrating ideological development.TA is a great analyst and frontline shd get him as a coloumnist, it will raise their circulation!

Many thanks for the wonderfully insightful article. Wish Frontline had Tariq Ali as a regular columnist. Thanks to him for
unraveling the spin of the make-believe world created by mainstream media - its contradictions, it's falsehoods and its
sales pitch. Truly Orwellian proportions!
