This book by the journalist Thanassis Cambanis provides the most compelling portrait of the urgency of the rebellion, and the despondency in its loss.

Obituaries for the 2011 revolution are only now emerging. The general sense is of futility: What was the point of the uprising if the outcome is worse than the situation that existed?
